Nvidia Geforce GTX 680

Nvidia has launched its new flagship Gpu ,the geforce GTX 680 . The card is based on a polished Fermi architecture , GK104 . It has 1536 stream processors ,that is thrice the number found on its predecessor, the GTX 580. It also boasts of 128 texture units and 32 ROPs .The core is clocked at slightly more than one Ghz , yeah thats 1 GHz, at 1006 MHz. It also has a boost clock. It basically works like Intel's turboboost. That is the gpu automatically overclocks itself to a higher clock speed as and when it is required. It comes with 2GB of GDRR5 memory clocked at 6GHz which connects through a 256 bit wide bus. The card now supports multiple displays. Which was an AMD only novelty till now. With this card 3+1 monitors can now be set up in Nvidia surround . It is also cooler and a whole lot quieter than the previous gen card and draws power from 2 PCIe power connectors. It has HDMI , DVI and display port outputs.
